What Other People Say About Garmin Forerunner 405

5 Stars!

"I am still learning how to use this watch to it's utmost! On an almost daily basis I use the GPS, heartrate monitor and timer/pace settings. I love the online tracking service through Garmin. This is a great watch. Each week I go online and watch another video on how to use the watch. There is always something new I hadn't thought of yet. I can't wait to try the course upload so I can follow the predetermined coordinates using my watch as my guide. Just what I need to keep me interested in my daily runs." (NickinAZ)

Great Shop

"Before buying this Forerunner I had to run in specific places where I knew the distance. With the GPS I can run everywhere and it will inform me the distance run. The Garmin Connect feature at Internet is also great, you can store your exercises results and monitore your evolution. I fully recommend it." (Gil Guimaraes)

Bye bye Polar RS800CX

"I've been using the Polar RS800CX for about 9 months. I've been extremely frustrated with the red button not working issue and the problematic foot pod. So, I decided to give the Garmin 405cx a spin.
I could go into a huge review of pro's and con's but to sum this up, the Garmin beats the Polar HANDS DOWN!

The most important thing is this, when I press the button on the Garmin I know it's going to work. I can't tell you how many times I lost my workout data because the Polar RS800CX button did not work. I always had to press the button 3-5 times before it would register." (BMan)

EXTREMELY Pleased!

"I am a person that ALWAYS have buyers remorse. This is only the third item that I have purchased in recent years that I do not have an ounce of regret or remorse. The first two were my Blackberry pearl and then later my iPhone. I must now add this to the list. I love it and got a GREAT price." (Victor R. Mosley)

It´s really nice not fearing getting lost hiking anymore

"I have used this watch for 3 months now... It is very easy to use. After 20 minutes I knew how to access most of its features. The data transmission to the computer is very nice, too. You only have to stick the usb receiving device into your computer and it detects the watch and retrieves the data. So, after all that, I can say that it was a great purchase, and I recommend it for anyone who likes running and gadgets. The touch bezel works great. Even when it was raining I was able to use it with no trouble at all." (Rambling Rose)

Amazing

"After using a Polar RS100 and switching for the Forerunner 405 cx I have just one opinion:
Awesome watch!"
(Adriano Liguori)

Great replacement for my Polar HRM

- "It looks and feels like a watch not a GPS strapped to your arm.
- It is accurate and has a ton of display options.
- I actually like and appreciate the bevel feature.
- It's rechargeable, so you don't have to send it in when the battery dies. (Polar suck in that instance.)
- You don't have to have a separate GPS unit, and it works well with a foot pod for treadmill or trail running."
(J. Flatt, Seattle, WA, USA)

My husband got me the Garmin 405 for Christmas last year. I am not techie (but I really wanted it). I found it too complicated and I wound up returning it. I would like to give it another try, but am wondering if there is something less complicated. I do a lot of running and training, so it would come in handy.

I am interested in something that I can wear in the water too, as I am planning on doing a 1/2 ironman next summer and want to wear the same watch for the entire race.

hi Jaynie. Well I think they might all be at least a "little" technical...because the sports watches give you great and useful options etc. If going under water is what you want, maybe you can find something here:

http://paw1500t7v.info/Casio%20Sports%20Watch.html

These are all casios, and the paw1500t7v is a good one for diving etc.

Check the diving depth for each watch...you might want to be one the save side and not choose anything that you can only go 5m below....but if its just surface swimming...you should be ok with most of those sports watches I think. Good luck
